For Quarter 3 I am changing my web site and blog to one spot. I will be explaining to the students before and after winter break. I know it will be a much easier site to access the information and files you need for the class. After winter break I will not update this blog or by web site. I will only be updating the new site. Homework and news will also be on the new site through my Twitter account. Thank you.
Here is the link.
Nov. 23 & Nov. 24 Chapter 5 Vocab Quiz
Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 Genetic Brochure Project Due
Dec. 8 & 9 Ch. 5 Test and Quarter 2 INB Due
Dec. 16 & 17 Science Benchmark
I will start posting my homework from my twitter account. It will show up on my web site on the homepage so students do not have to go to Twitter.com for it. I will do my best to updated it on A days. Hope this will help everyone to stay up to date with homework assignments for science.
Please note that the grades on snapgrades are the final grades for progress reports.
Students will be getting worksheets this week for homework.
The students are also taking the school wide 7th grade cell cycle quiz this week. Many students have forgotten the information so they need to review chapter 4 section 3 on cell divison.
I have updated grades for quarter2. We may have one more assignment before progress reports.
We have started Chapter 5 which is all about genetics. Many students find this chapter difficult to understand so studying daily would be a great idea before the Chapter 5 test. I also recommend that students make flash cards for the vocabulary. The better they understand the terms the better they will know what we are discussing in class. They will also understand the lab activities and the homework.
The students do not have homework for this weekend. I do suggest they work on projects and do the assessment improvements especially if they did poorly on the chapter 4 test. I am still working on my calendar for this quarter. I hope to have it done soon.
Many of the students need help in earning extra points so here are some options.
1. Assessment Improvements. Please click on the assessment tab.
2. Online Stem Cell research Project. Information is on my web site under projects.
3. make a terrarium. Please do not use plants with sharp needles like cactus.
4. Do the Try This Activitiy in the textbook. Any chapter we have covered so far. Please write up your results.
There is no quiz this week. We are not on schedule with the calendar. I will create a quarter 2 calendar but remember it is more for me but I post it for you so you have in idea of what is going on in class. Most assignments stay the same but at times I do change things to fit better with how the classes are doing on the topics we are covering in class.
Please mark your calendar for these items. I will do my best not to change these dates, but if something comes up they might change.

I have submitted my grades for progress reports. Most of you know your grades because of Snapgrades so getting a progress grade with your grade won’t be as mysterious as it once was in the past. A couple of things to know when you do get your progress report.
I did not add the plus and minuses since it is only a progress report and they really don’t count for your overall GPA anyways. Just so you don’t freak out I put “In danger of Failing” if you have a C or lower. Most likely your grade would not fall but in the case it does I have informed you about the possiblity of that occuring. If you have any questions please come see me or email me.
